TechSavve RMM vs NinjaOne
NinjaOne is a cloud RMM and endpoint management platform. TechSavve RMM is agentless RMM and PSA that you run on your own server. Here is how they differ, and when each one fits.
At a glance
| TechSavve RMM | NinjaOne | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | On your own server (Linux, or Windows for small offices), or hosted for you by DFWTechPros | NinjaOne's cloud (software as a service); there is no version you install on your own server |
| On each managed device | Nothing to install to monitor it: one collector per customer site checks devices over WinRM, SSH and SNMP, and reads your vCenter, Hyper-V, Proxmox and KVM hosts | The NinjaOne agent installed on each managed computer |
| Tickets, time and invoices (PSA) | Built in: tickets with SLAs, time tracking and invoices. Tickets can also be linked to ConnectWise Manage, Autotask, HaloPSA, Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk or Freshservice | Has its own ticketing; connects to outside PSAs |
| How it is priced | By quote. 30-day free trial in the installer (up to 100 devices, 2 customer tenants, 4 sites) | Per managed device, by quote |
| Moving across | Built-in importer reads customers, sites and devices from NinjaOne | - |

Where TechSavve RMM is different
No agents to roll out
Place one collector at each customer site and add devices by discovery, import or by hand. Nothing is installed on the servers, PCs and network gear it monitors.
Your server, your data
Run it on your own Linux server, or on Windows for a small office, so customer data stays where you put it. Or have DFWTechPros host it for you.
RMM and PSA in one
Alerts become tickets with SLAs; time and invoices live next to them. Or link tickets to the PSA you already use.
Hypervisors and clouds included
vCenter, Hyper-V, Proxmox and KVM hosts, and AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and five more clouds, with every machine on them found and monitored.
When NinjaOne may suit you better
You would rather not run a server of your own at all.
Most of what you manage is laptops that rarely sit on a customer's network, where an agent on the device reports from anywhere (TechSavve has an optional check-in helper for laptops that leave the network).
Questions
Can I move from NinjaOne to TechSavve RMM?
Yes. The Getting started page connects to NinjaOne's API once, reads your customers, sites and devices, shows a preview, and only then creates them. The API key is not stored.
Do I need to remove the NinjaOne agent first?
No. TechSavve does not use an agent, so both can run side by side while you compare them.
